🛠 The 5-Year Assurance Framework
Our warranty is straightforward: We assume 100% responsibility for the work performed by our hands, while ensuring clear, fair boundaries regarding materials and usage.
🟩 What Is Covered
- Our Craftsmanship: 100% of our direct installation labor, mechanical wiring assembly, and structural conduit routing.
- Duration: Full coverage for exactly 5 years from the date of substantial project completion.
- The Paying Client: This custom warranty belongs exclusively to the specific client (property owner or tenant) whose name is on the contract and who paid the invoice in full.
- Sourced Material & Support: If HG Electric purchased and supplied the equipment for your project, we will actively assist you in processing any valid manufacturer component claims.
🟥 What Is Excluded
- Material & Component Failures: Any structural failure, internal burnout, or software defect within switches, panels, smart home devices, EV chargers, or light fixtures.
- Replacement Labor: Our warranty covers errors made by our hands, not failures inside a factory-made part. If a component fails due to a manufacturer defect, the manufacturer may replace the part for free, but HG Electric does not provide free labor to diagnose, remove, or reinstall that replacement part. Standard service rates apply.
- Client-Supplied Materials: Any components, fixtures, or materials purchased or supplied directly by the client.
- Wear and Tear: Natural cosmetic aging, exposure to weather elements, or routine bulb/battery replacements.
- Uncontrollable Events: Damage resulting from accidents, structural shifting, power surges, utility grid failures, or acts of God.
- Pre-Existing System Conditions: HG Electric is strictly responsible for the specific new wiring and components installed by our team. If we discover code violations, faulty connections, or subpar workmanship performed by previous contractors or DIYers—even if those hazards are on the same electrical circuit or located downstream/upstream from our work—HG Electric assumes zero liability for those pre-existing conditions. We will document these discoveries and provide you with a separate estimate to bring them up to modern California Electrical Code standards.
🚫 Strict Voiding Conditions
- Unauthorized Modifications: This warranty is instantly voided if any part of our installed system is modified, repaired, adjusted, or tampered with by any handyman, third-party contractor, or person other than an authorized HG Electric technician.
- Delinquent Accounts: Warranty activation is strictly conditional upon the project invoice being settled and paid in full according to the original contract terms.
📋 Comprehensive Warranty Guidelines
🔒 Non-Transferable Protection: Our extended 5-year workmanship upgrade is strictly non-transferable. It is legally tied to the specific person or entity listed on the original paid invoice. If you sell the home, transfer property ownership, change corporate entities, or if a tenant vacates the lease, this custom craftsmanship coverage automatically terminates.
📦 Manufacturer Material Variations: HG Electric passes all manufacturer warranties directly through to you. Please note that material warranties vary significantly by brand—some manufacturers offer 1-year coverage, while premium electrical panels may carry 10-year or lifetime equipment guarantees. While our free labor coverage for craftsmanship concludes at 5 years, your physical hardware may remain protected by the manufacturer for much longer.
🏛️ California Statutory Disclosures: In strict alignment with California construction law (California Code of Civil Procedure §§ 337.1 and 337.15), all structural aspects of our work maintain the mandatory state baselines: a 4-year limitation period for patent (obvious) defects and a 10-year statute of repose for latent (hidden structural) defects.
🔍 How to Submit a Craftsmanship Request
If you believe an issue is related directly to our installation craftsmanship within your 5-year window, please follow our verification process below:
1. Verification & Scheduling
Ensure your account was paid in full and locate your project invoice number. Contact our team to request a Warranty Diagnostic Visit.
2. The Diagnostic & Responsibility Policy
When we roll a truck to your property, an HG Electric technician will thoroughly test and audit the system to determine the exact cause of the issue:
- If it is our mistake: If our diagnostic shows the issue was caused by a defect in our original installation labor, we will fix it immediately and you will owe $0 for both the diagnostic visit and the repair labor.
- If it is NOT our mistake: If the electrical issue is tied to a factory material failure, user error, outside trade tampering, or a problem unrelated to our specific work, the customer is responsible for our standard diagnostic fee plus any approved hourly labor rates required to fix the issue.
